Georgian universities follow the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are WFME recognized, which aligns closely with European medical guidelines. Russian universities follow their own structured state medical curriculum, which is also highly respected and NMC compliant.
Duration
Both countries offer 6-year MBBS programs. In Russia, the course is 6 years of English-medium academic training. In Georgia, it is also 6 years, with a major focus on clinical clerkship in modern multi-specialty hospitals starting from the third year.
Budget & Fees
Russia is generally more budget-friendly. Tuition fees in Russia start around ₹3.5 Lakhs/year, whereas in Georgia, fees are slightly higher, starting around ₹4.5 Lakhs to ₹7.5 Lakhs/year. Living costs are also slightly higher in Tbilisi than in Russian regional hubs.
